Our Mission
The Benjamin Lopez Foundation, NFP is a non for profit 501c3 organization established in Chicago, IL. in 2023. The purpose of the Benjamin Lopez Foundation is to provide charitable support for Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) research in the area of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), provide annual scholarships to those seeking education, and education to the public regarding organ and tissue donor awareness.
Autoimmune Hepatitis Research
Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) is a chronic disease that occurs when patients’ immune systems attack their livers and sometimes damage them. AIH is a chronic disease that is treated long term, often for life. There is no cure for AIH, but the disease can be controlled through medication.
Scholarship Opportunities
On behalf of the Benjamin Lopez Foundation two annual scholarships will be awarded to those deserving students who exemplify the core values of the foundations mission: honesty, loyalty, giving, caring and empathy. “If you can be anything in the world, be kind”
Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness
Education happens within the context of a larger community. Educating the public in organ and tissue donation is one of the foundations building block. Together we can make a difference.
